Entebbe provides an attractive introduction to Uganda. It is a major town in Central Uganda which is situated thirty five kilometers south of Kampala on the shores of Lake Victoria. The town was once the seat of government, prior to Independence in 1962. But now it is the most famous for being the site of country’s only International airport which is the largest commercial and military airport of country. It offers a relaxed stop-over alternative to Kampala on your way in or out of country as the air is clean, streets are safe and old colonial gardens and parks provide a perfect background for serene atmosphere.

Many popular things to do in the city are its outdoor activities and wildlife safaris. Great wildlife diversity is one of the primary reasons that visitors come here to enjoy their holidays. Visit Ngamba Island Sanctuary which is one of the few places in the world where you can encounter with chimpanzees. Best Time to Visit

Depending upon weather, the best time to visit Entebbe is during the months of July, March or October. The weather during this time is favorable because it is neither too sunny nor too chilly. You enjoy great sunshine during the day and moderately cool evenings. During Christmas and New Year holidays most of the resorts and hotels are usually booked because tourists from America and Europe flock here to escape the winter in their home countries. The month of March and period from May through September are usually considered the low tourist season and thus you can easily found accommodation.

The Kibale Forest is a home to over 300 species of birds and is decked with great variety and concentration of primates. All these natural surroundings make this beautiful destination worth visit.

Festivals and Events

There are not too many festivals in Uganda but the ones that are still going strong are predominantly focused on country’s growing arts and music scene. Among the most celebrated festivals and events include Amakula Kampala International Film Festival, Bayimba International Festival of music and arts, Festival on the Nile, B-Global indigenous hip hop festival etc which are the most celebrated one.
